SkinPen® Microneedling is a medical-grade treatment designed to support the skin’s natural renewal process. Using collagen induction therapy stimulated by creating precise, controlled micro-channels in the skin, SkinPen® helps improve skin texture, tone and overall skin quality in a subtle, progressive way.

 

How it works

Cellular turnover refers to the skin’s natural renewal process where old, damaged skin cells rise to the surface and shed allowing the healthy new skin cells to take over. Typically in young healthy skin this cycle takes around 28 days. As we age, this turnover also slows leaving us with dull, textured skin.

The micro channels created by collagen induction therapy aka SkinPen use, accelerate cell turnover. This triggers a remodelling process and the production of new collagen and elastin fibres resulting in healthy, radiant skin

What to Expect

A thorough skin assessment ensures a suitable, safe treatment plan that is aligned with your skin goals. At VS, we believe not all beauty is pain, so we apply a topical numbing agent to maximise your comfort during treatment. Once this has had time to work, we cleanse your face and begin treatment using SkinPen’s Lift HG glide gel. Following treatment, a biocellulose mask is applied to soothe, hydrate and calm skin by reducing redness and discomfort. Aftercare advice and products are provided to make sure you get the most out of your treatment.

Depending on area(s) treated we aim to allow for 30-45mins plus numbing time.

After treatment, the skin may appear red and feel warm, similar to mild sun exposure which typically settles over the following days.

Results

Skin often appears smoother and more refreshed as healing occurs. Improvements develop gradually as the skin repairs itself over the weeks following treatment. A course of treatments may be recommended depending on your skin concerns and goals with best results achieved through 3 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

It is recommended to avoid this treatment if you have active infections, bleeding disorders, or are pregnant.
