What to Expect

Following an individualised consultation and facial assessment, together we develop a suitable treatment plan based on your goals and provide you with up front pricing.

The procedure itself is quick with minimal discomfort and no downtime. It involves cleansing the area and then using a small needle to deliver the required dosing to the targeted muscles (you may feel a slight stinging sensation during treatment).

Afterwards you will receive instructions for post treatment care. We typically schedule a quick (10minute) review at two weeks to assess results and manage any dose adjustments needed.

Results

The effects of treatment are not immediate. You will usually start to notice some muscle relaxation after 3–5 days, with the full effect visible around 10–14 days post-injection. Results last on average 3-4 months, as your body metabolises the toxin and gradually repairs the nerve-muscle connection. Longevity can increase with regular treatments.

  • how does it work?

    Botulinum toxin type A, like Xeomin® and Botox® block transmission of nerve signals to the muscles. This relaxes the muscles and lessens tension on the skin reducing wrinkles.

  • What is the cost?

    Both Botox and Xeomin are charged at $16 a unit for anti-wrinkle indications. Dosing is individualised based on your anatomy and treatment needs. We offer free consultations which will provide you with a clear pricing based on your treatment goals. At VS Therapeutics we aim to make injectables affordable with payment plan options to suit your budget. Afterpay® also available.

  • Are there risks?

    Botulinum toxin treatments are safe and effective. The most common side effects are temporary and include minor swelling, redness or bruising. In rare cases eyelid ptosis (drooping) or headaches can occur.

  • Xeomin® is a Prescription Medicine containing 50, 100 units of incobotulinum Type A, purified Botulinum toxin type A complex for injection. It is used for the treatment of frown lines on the forehead, lateral periorbital lines and horizontal forehead lines in adults. It should be administered only by trained medical professionals. Talk to your specialist about the benefits/risks of this procedure in appearance medicine. Xeomin treatment lasts about four months and further courses of treatment may be necessary. Cautions: people receiving blood thinning medicines, care at the proposed injection sites, pregnancy and lactation. Possible side effects: headache, pain, swelling or infection at injection site, local muscle weakness including drooping eye lids, lack of feeling & nausea. Treatment last for up to 4 months.
